WHAT IS LEPROSY ?

Disease, caused by a “GERM” called  MYCOBACTERIUM LEPRAE.  It effects skin and nerves of human body Leprosy is the least infectious disease because the germ does not stay alive for a long time out side the human body. With the modern drugs leprosy is curable within six months to two years. To prevent deformities of crippling, “EARLY” and “REGULAR” treatment is essential. At present leprosy is 100% curable. Following are simple signs and symptoms of leprosy:

 

COMMON SIGNS OF LEPROSY (FOR NON CONTAGIOUS)

Any whitish or reddish numb patch.
  • which has no pain itching.
  • remains the same for 6 weeks or longer
  • does not respond to any local treatment

MAY BE LEPROSY

How to check for the above signs:

  • A. Touch the middle part of the patch with any pain or pencil point.
  • If there is no feeling, then “it is definitely LEPROSY.

COMMON SIGNS OF LEPROSY (FOR CONTAGIOUS)

Then skin of the face remains ( RED & THICK)
  • The ear lobes are swollen.
  • Eye brows starts to fall.
  • No itching of complaint found Old wounds or blisters on hand or feet.
  • Which do not heal of the reason for them is unknown – go for a leprosy checkup.
